In Polen ist der Katholizismus so etwas wie eine Staatsreligion, Papst Johannes Paul II ein Nationalheld. Schon allein die Frage, was er von sexuellem Missbrauch innerhalb der Kirche wusste, gilt besonders im PiS-Milieu als unpatriotisch. Und wird zum Kulturkampf umgedeutet.
